This shoe feature a padded tongue and slight padding around the collar, metal grommets, and suede and mesh uppers for good breathability. The suede has a decent nap - they didn't go the cheapest route with it and it's in all the right places on this shoe. Like most Keds, arch support is lacking but they're a nice, solidly built casual shoe. I like the matching outsole and the slightly elevated heel which gives them some great updated styling. The fit (like most Keds) is true to size and width and comfortable right out of the box, with no toe cramping or initial stiffness. If you're a Keds fan, you'll probably like these a lot! :)
I'm glad to know they still make the traditional and nostalgic canvas "skippies" (as we used to call them back in the day and seemingly *every* kid had a pair!) but this is definitely a nice new look and direction for Keds!
